When I think of my Uncle Richard, several memories flood my mind. Countless summer days at Galveston, riding on the back of his dirt bike at Ft. Parker State Park, him pulling us on an old refrigerator door behind the tractor (hey, none of us knew better back then :)), lots of shrimp!!, him dancing with his sister-my aunt, Brenda-in the kitchen of my grandma's kitchen in LaPorte (of which I still have a photo)....and lots of laughter. He loved

Thank you for allowing us to care for Mr. Haynes. It was a pleasure getting to know him and his family. You are all in our prayers.

I had the good fortune of knowing Richard for many years and considered him to be a dear friend! My deepest condolences to Angela and the Haynes Family.

My sweet Angela....my heart hurts for you honey. I know it was a lot of work taking care of your daddy while being sick, but you cherished being needed and did such a fine job. I love you dearly, and I am here for you always. So glad I got to see him one last time at our crawfish dinner at Guidrys. He will be missed. Pop still laughs about the scooter race at the cookoff...and that will remain a

My darlings Angela and Anna, our hearts are hurting for you both with the loss of your Daddy, but know he is at peace and happy to be with your Mother. We will always remember the fun at the Lomax cook-off a few years ago when Pop and Richard were having scooter races. A very fun day and makes us laugh to think about it. Know you both are loved by us and look forward to hugs on June 6th.

With Love, Mom and Pop

I met Richard in 1944; I was 4 years old and he was 5. I don't think we were very good friends at first, but before we were teenagers, we had become very close friends; we've been that way ever since. I remember going on a vacation with my family when I was 16. Before the vacation was half over I was wanting to cut the vacation short because I missed Richard so much.
