Benita Jasso Rios, age 82 passed away to perfect peace on Monday, April 28, 2014. She was born in Galveston, Texas on February 22, 1932.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Rios, Laura Rios Anzaldua and Theresa Rios Trevino and husband Zaragoza. Grandsons Patrick Ian Cisneros, Matthew Aaron Cisneros, Alejandro Armando Trevino and Joe Adan (AJ) Anzaldua, wife Veronica, great grandson Robert and great granddaughter Kaiela, who will be born on May 1st. Sisters Frances Escamilla and Guadalupe Chapa, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Armando Rios, parents Zaragoza and Maria Ana Jasso, sisters Eva Victoria Jasso, Mary Ann Jasso, Elvira Jasso Cervera and brother Florencio Jasso.
Benita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for the late Dr. James Hoffman for over 20 years. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. Joseph's Church. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Our mother was an avid reader, loved to dance, enjoyed traveling, but mostly, her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by the love of her family. Her signature gifts of patience and love shown through her constant smiling, laughter and her sense of humor will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be Thursday May 1, 2014 at 6:00pm at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home, followed by Rosary at 7:00pm. Services will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Church in Baytown. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
This obituary was written in honor of our dearest Mother. It is our tribute to her memory, which will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now in each of us, the lives she formed and touched by her love.
