Burton "Leon" McNulty, age 78, of Baytown, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2014. He was born on December 16, 1935, in Baytown, to Edward Eugene and Zora Etta Howell McNulty. Leon proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. On January 22, 1966, he married LaNora De Deckard in Baytown. He retired from J.M. Huber after over 30 years. After retirement, Leon was known to many in the area as "Santa Claus". He and his wife dressed as "Mr. and Mrs. Claus" and brought joy to numerous children in the area. He was an active and faithful member of the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church.

Leon is survived by his wife, LaNora De McNulty of Baytown; daughter, Terrie Lynn Watson and husband, John, of Baytown; grandchildren, Christy Hammack and husband, David, of Baytown, Kevin Sowders and wife, Nikki, of Baytown, Jerry Watson and wife, Debbie, of Topeka, KS, and Wendy Bach and husband, Brian, of Topeka, KS; great-grandchildren, Jazlyn, Kelsey, Kayla, Kayson, Madison, Taylor, Jonah, Hayleigh, and Aiden; sister-in-law, Jeanine McNulty of Baytown; nephew, Rocky McNulty and wife, Shelly, of Smithville, TX; and niece, Pam Velez and husband, Mike, of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Kenneth McNulty.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander, Baytown 77520. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 2 p.m., with Reverend Mark Broussard and Dr. Richard Steel officiating.
