George Patrick McHaney, "Pat", born in Port Lavaca, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Colleen McHaney. He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret McHaney, his daughters, Rhiannon McHaney and Patricia Vowell, his sister and brother, Treacy McHaney Pattillo and Michael McHaney, and his stepchildren, Thor and Hannah Foster, and his grandchildren, Neil, Lidia, Austin, Grace, Christian, Addison and Liam, and his nephews Roger, John, Brandon and niece Sara Tuttle.

Pat was very active in Masonry. He was Past Worshipful Master of Baytown, no. 1357, and Olive Branch, no. 26. In the York Rite, he was Past High Priest and Past Thrice Illustrious Master of the Chapter and Council of Goose Creek and Jerusalem. He was Past Commander of Brenham Commandery. He was a member of Rio Vista Chapter and Council of Dayton, Texas. He was Past Sovereign Master of Lewis London Sutton Allied Masonic Degree and Past Excellent Chief of Wilbury B. Sirman Knight Masons. He was a member of Gulf Coast York Rite College, no. 106 and Southeast Texas York Rite College, no. 90. He was a member of San Felipe York Rite Club, Chinar Grotto, Marine Square Club of Houston and Grand College of Rites. He was a Royal Arch Mason, Televiv, Israel. He proudly served as Right Illustrious District Deputy Grand Master 2008, District 7, of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas and District Deputy Grand High Priest 2013, District 7, of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas.
