Geraldine (Gerrie) Bolt Adams (nee Geraldine Riley), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, died on August 15, 2014 due to complications with Alzheimer's Disease. Born February 8, 1937, in Milford, Illinois, to her birth parents, Clyde and Thelma Riley, who have preceded her in death, Geraldine lived most of her childhood and into adulthood with her foster parents, Donald and Esther Bolt, whose surname she adopted and who have also preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a foster sister, Edith Bolt Dunn; her father-in-law, Roddy Adams, and her mother-in-law, Emma Elizabeth Adams; her brother-in-law, Roland Adams; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Mason and Rosella McDaniel and her husband Bill McDaniel. She was a 1955 graduate of Gorman High School in Gorman, Texas, and attended North Texas State Teachers College in Denton, Texas, where she met her husband, Dale Talmadge Adams, who has been an instructor at Lee College in Baytown for forty-nine years. Geraldine leaves her husband, of 54 years, and three sons, Scott Patrick Adams, William Edward Adams, and Anthony Talmadge Adams and his wife Jeannette; two foster brothers, John Paul Bolt and his wife Carolyn and George Edward Bolt; a foster brother-in-law, Bill Dunn; and six much beloved grandchildren, Tyler Scott Adams and his wife Jessica, Erin Elizabeth Adams, Mariah Amber Adams, Riley Forrest Adams, Isobel Grace Adams, and Emily Brooke Adams; numerous nieces and nephews; and a beloved foster cousin, Ingrid Lindsey.

A ten-year resident of Baytown, where she was a volunteer at the Baytown Opportunity School, she lived the last forty years in Clear Lake (Houston) where she retired in 1996 from the Clear Lake City Water Authority after fifteen years' service. Geraldine loved and was especially devoted to her grandchildren and loved tending the flowers in her back yard. She was a woman of great good humor and was always able to make others laugh. "What though [her] radiance which once was so bright/Be now for ever taken from [our] sight,/Though nothing can bring back the hour/Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;/We will grieve not, rather find/Strength in what remains behind;/In the primal sympathy/Which having been must ever be;/In the soothing thoughts that spring/Out of human suffering;/In the faith that looks through death,/In years that bring the philosophic mind."
