Hilda Aurora Loredo, 70, of Baytown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. She was born October 8, 1943, in Waco, Texas, to Rogers Garrido, Sr. and Julia Sanchez Garrido. She grew up in Beaumont, Texas, and moved to Baytown in her twenties. Hilda Loredo dedicated her life to helping others. She was a caring mother of three, proud grandmother of eight, and her highest honor was being a great grandmother of two, with one on the way.

She enjoyed life and loved being with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as being a great cook and baker. All of her grandchildren loved to come to Grandma's house to enjoy her special treats. She enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren and supporting them in their activities, such as sports and school events. She was also a dedicated fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Hilda's love for the Lord transcended her religious affiliation. She was raised Catholic but found her church home at Maranatha Church. She enjoyed being part of Women's Aglow and also volunteered at the food bank, Helping Hands, for several years.

Preceded in death by her parents, Rogers Garrido, Sr. and Julia Garrido, and brother, Rogers Garrido, Jr.; Hilda is survived by her son, Abelardo Lopez, Jr. and Matias Atilano Lopez and wife, Linda; daughter, Celeste Garcia and husband, Perry; grandchildren, Joey Lopez and wife, Heather, Brittany Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Matt Lopez II, Michael Lopez, Nicholas Garcia, Jonathan Garcia and Danielle Garcia; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Lopez and Jayden Lopez; aunt, Mary Haven; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Alice Lopez for her unwavering friendship and being there in the good times and bad.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m., on Thursday, with Pastor Scott Niemeier officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Matias Lopez II, Michael Lopez, Nicholas Garcia, Jonathan Garcia, David Lopez and godson, Celestino Lopez III.
