Jane Maluatonga Harris Payne graduated this life November 29, 2013 in Baytown, Texas. Jane was born
February 27, 1951 in Auckland, New Zealand to Percy and Anna Harris. She was an intelligent, well read woman who had many talents. Jane was a fashion designer, and had worked on one of Barbara Bush's inaugural gowns. Jane was outgoing and could make friends with total strangers, She loved and was proud of her brothers and sisters and was fond of telling about all their exploits. Jane was proud of her Tongan heritage and loved to tell people she met that she was English, German, and Tongan. Above all else she fiercely loved and nurtured her children, Jeremy Peni'taito Payne, and Aurean Ana'stasia Payne. Her children were her pride and joy. She leaves behind the love of her life, and her eternal companion Ricky Payne who cared for her in her long struggle with cancer. She is also survived by her much loved grandchildren, Skye, Tristan, Kiaya, Kalisi, Malia, Shia, and Weston. Jane was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Skylee and Rain; siblings, James Harris (deceased) and wife Fane, Philip and wife Olyvia, Mabel Wishart and husband George, Nellie Rios and husband Joe, Percy Harris and wife Rolayne, and numerous nieces and nephews who are grateful for the plan of Salvation and for family bonds. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Chapel of the Latter-Day Saints Church, 101 Birdsong, Baytown, TX. An interment will follow on Saturday, December 7, at 11 am, at Restever Cemetery, 5103 N Texas Ave, Bryan, TX.
