Joe Guzman Sr.
Joe Guzman Sr. was born September 10, 1948 to Santiago and Maria Guzman. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Teresa Guzman, his sons: James Vincent Cannizzo and wife Angela Harris-Cannizzo, and Joe Guzman Jr. and wife Nikki Guzman; daughter: Diana Johnson and husband Kenneth Johnson; grandchildren Hubert Artis, Tony Artis, Lance Artis, Jesse Angelo Cannizzo and wife Ashely Cannizzo, Sara Cannizzo, Bella Cannizzo, John Anthony Cannizzo, Gabriel Guzman, and Elijah Guzman; many great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sons William Segura and Jesse John Cannizzo.
Joe was born to Santiago and Maria and was a creative and rambunctious child and those qualities followed him throughout his life, even to the very end. As a very young man he joined the U.S. Marines and served his country for two tours in Vietnam. He bravely defended our honor and freedom, when many men of less courage were running the other way. He was awarded several commendations for his service. He was honored to serve.
Upon his return, he married Teresa Guzman and together they raised a beautiful family. Their lives were full of love and adventure. Through the years they met and made so many friends and shared much fun and laughter. He always had a project to work on, a party to throw, or a loved one to help. Later in life Joe transitioned into an amazing, loving grandfather. He loved his grandchildren and supported them and loved them with all his heart.
