Lola Leavins, 68, of Hardin, Texas, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2014, near her home in Liberty, Texas, with close family and friends gathered at her side. She was born July 5, 1945, in Oakdale, Louisiana, to Andrew Ware and Rilie Young Ware. She was the youngest of 12 children, which included four sisters and eight brothers.

Lola married Jake Leavins on November 26, 1963, and they enjoyed over 50 joyous years together. They resided in Baytown, Texas, before retiring to their dream home in 1996 in Hardin, Texas.

Lola worked outside the home and retired to the job she really loved, being a homemaker. Lola always enjoyed housework, decorating her home, and caring for the lawn and flower gardens. Everyone knows what a great cook she was. Most of all, she loved spending time with and doing for her family and friends.

Lola is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Sam Ware, James Ware, Clyde Ware, Kenney Ware, Kenneth Ware, and Julius Ware. She is survived by her husband, Jake Leavins, of Hardin, Texas; sons, Jake Leavins, Jr. and wife, Sherri, and Robert Leavins. Lola is also survived by grandchildren, Elyse Murphy and husband,Will, and Michael Leavins, Johnny Santana, Justin Santana, and Jimmy Pelham; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ver Mae O'Neal, Ella Mae Odom, and Essie Seago and husband, Jerry; and brothers, Andrew Ware Jr. and Calvin Ware.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014, in the Chapel of Crespo and Jirrels, with Mr. Jeremy Hodges officiating. A reception in the Crespo & Jirrels Family Center will immediately follow the service. For those desiring to honor her, Lola requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
