Necie Joy Davis, age 85, of Baytown, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Clear Lake. She was born on August 1, 1928, in Pelly Texas to Giles Luther and Sadie Harrington Eiland. On January 8, 1954, she married James Oliver Davis. He went home on December 28, 2011. Mrs. Davis graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, and Durham Business College in Houston. She also attended Lee College, and Northwestern in Louisiana. She was formerly an Administrative Assistant for the City of Baytown, Houston Lighting and Power, the San Jac Depot- Europe Communications Base Headquarters, Northwestern State University, Music Department, and Baytown State Bank (now Amegy). She was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church, and lived to honor her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Mrs. Davis also loved to travel and read.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Jane (Janie) West and husband, Dean, of Baytown, and Susan Greer and husband, Seborn, of Pasadena; grandchildren, Kristen and husband, Chad Michael, Lauren West, Megan and Micah Greer; sisters, Mae Rene Graham and husband, Bill, of Mineral Wells, and Carol Tieman and husband, Jerry of Baytown; and brother, G. L. Eiland and wife, Ann, of Baytown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 23, starting at 1 PM, with funeral services to be held in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels starting at 2 pm, with Pastor Ira A. Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the KHCB Broadcaster, 2424 South Blvd, Houston, TX, 77098-5196, and/or Grace New Testament Baptist Church, P.O. Box 906, Natchitoches, LA, 71457.
