Pedro O. Garcia, 82, of Baytown, Texas, went to be with our Lord on January 31, 2014, in Baytown, Texas. He was a beloved, father, grandfather, and brother, with many other trusted family and friends.
Pedro O. Garcia was born in Rancho La Providencia, Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on March 26, 1931. He was a resident of Baytown, Texas, for forty-nine years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evila Magdalena Garcia; son, Juan Manuel Garcia; brothers, Mariano and Nicholas Garcia.
He is survived by his son, Jose Ricardo Hernandez and wife, Margaret, of McAllen, Texas; daughter, Mary E. Chain and husband, Earl, of Dayton, Texas; son, Pedro T. Garcia, Jr. and wife, Jena, of Baytown Texas; daughters, Idolina Garcia and Gloria De Forest, both of Baytown; son, Rolando and wife, Lucy Garcia, of Mt. Belvieu, Texas; brother, Oscar Garcia; sister, Lucia Garcia Olvera; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Reverend Jesus Lizalde as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Martin Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Earl Hanson Chain Jr, John Michael Garcia, Andrew Chain, Alex Garcia John Albert Alaniz, and Eric Alaniz.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Burbandy, Dr. Burns, and the entire staff of ICU San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.
