Zalika Sydney Baptiste was born on March 4, 2014 in Brooklyn, New York. She weighed 7 pound 9 ounces and 19 inches long. During her brief life she visited three states, New York, Arkansas, and Texas, where she passed away on July 30, 2014. Zalika laughed and smiled her entire life. Although, she only lived four short months here on Earth she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends.

Zalika leaves her mother, Kioana Asia Baptiste to cherish her love and beautiful smile. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents Anna Lisa Mitchell (Baytown) and Gary Baptiste (St. Vincent); her maternal great-grandparents Gemma and Alfred Mitchell (Baytown) and Iona Baptiste (New York); her two uncles Justin Chacon (New York) and Uzziah Smith (Baytown); her great-aunts, Monica Mitchell and Doreenthea Mitchell Stewart (Baytown), Theclar and Lydia Mitchell and Natasha, Valery, and Trisha Baptiste (New York); her great-uncles, Ricky Mitchell (Houston) and Ray Baptiste (St. Vincent); and many cousins (Baytown, Houston, New York), friends and relatives.

Her life was a brief gift to us and others. Her mother has peace in knowing that Zalika will live on in others as her heart was donated to a three month baby girl in Alabama and her liver will live on in a two year old girl, in her birth place, New York City.

Rest easy princess.
