Haskell BB Watson, 60, of Baytown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 28, 2013. He was born Haskell Burl Watson but changed his name to BB Watson when he was signed by RCA Records. Although born in Overton, Texas, his family moved to the Pasadena and La Porte area and he continued to live in the area for the rest of his life.

His music career as a country singer went from 1986 to 2009 with RCA and B & A Records. Some of his songs were "Light at the End of the Tunnel," "Go Outside," "Say Goodbye," "A Lover not a Fighter," and Memories are the Last Things to Go."

Mr. Watson is preceded in death by his father, Earl B. Watson; mother, Peggy Watson; and brother, Charlie Watson. He is survived by his brothers, Hancel Watson and DeWayne Watson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Christopher Brannen officiating. Burial will be Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Terry Karmer, Lenzie Menter, Terry Belinge, Robert Hampton, Hurshel Brannen and DeWayne Watson. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
