Jean Hammack, 75, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed from this life on Monday, February 6, 2012, at her Baytown home. Born in Gonzales, Texas, on April 25, 1936, she was the daughter of Johnny and Ruby (Coulter) Proctor. She was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and a member of the Ladies of St. John. Jean enjoyed going to movies and gardening, but her true passion was spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Carolle Hammack, and her brother, Bobby Proctor, she is survived by her two sons, Michael Hammack and his wife, Eva, and Mitchell Hammack and his wife, Kathryn; her sister, Pat Carpenter and her husband, Carlos, of Moulton, TX; grandchildren, David Hammack and his wife, Christy, Angela Bogie and husband, Brian, Shon Thompson, and Darren Thompson; great grandchildren, Beija Thompson, Summer Anderson, Taylor Thompson, Madison Hammack and Brayden Bogie; and nieces, Mitzi Carpenter and Kimberly Carpenter.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Road, Baytown. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012, in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Deacon John Singer officiating. Interment will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be David Hammack, Shon Thompson, Brian Bogie, Scott Pearson, Randy Laza and Mike Burgess.

Jean's family would like to thank the many friends that supported her at the end of her journey and throughout her life, especially Myra Nebgen, Phyllis Ray, Dorothy Burwick and Jackie Ashford.
