Miguel Escalon, Jr., 57, of Baytown, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 9, 2013, in a local hospital. He was born May 6, 1956, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Miguel Escalon and Angelica Lopez Escalon. Miguel was a resident of Baytown for thirty-five years and was a member of the Catholic faith. He worked for Brock Scaffolding. Besides spending time with his grandson, Miguel enjoyed reading, watching animal planet and was an enthusiastic fan of the Houston Texans.

Preceded in death by his father, Miguel Escalon, Sr.; he is survived by his loving wife, Leticia Aguilar Escalon; mother, Angelica Escalon; sons, Jaret Aguilar and Kris Aguilar; grandson, Bentley Aguilar; sisters and brothers, Rosemary Del Toro and husband, Alfred, Rubin Escalon and wife, Julie, Alan Escalon and wife, Elvira, Maribel Del Leon and husband, Romero, Maria Clara Castillo and husband, Esteban; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 6 – 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., led by Deacon George Rincon, in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Reverend Fred Ablog as celebrant. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Shannon Aguilar, Louie Araujo, Robert Castaneda, James Ibarra, Jesse Ibarra, Jr., Alfred Del Toro, Esteban Castillo and David Perez. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to Sterling Municipal Library in Baytown.
